Default '95 WRX TMIC

Need to upgrade from the standard ic but i really dont want to run a front mount ic. I have been looking on the internet the last few nights for one but most of the TMIC are all from 1996 onwards.

I am not too bad with a spanner so would like one i can just bolt on and not need to bash my bulkhead or fabricate something.

Does anyone know where i can get something like that and not for £900 like the one i did see!

your only option if you don't want to bash anything is to fit the intercooler off of the v1/v2 sti as this has a slightly larger end tank and most importantly it gets rid of the horrible restrictive corrugated intercooler inlet pipe with a nice smooth alloy one.

no worries they normally pop up on ebay and sometimes go dirt cheap if you do go for one just make its a proper one (not a wrx one painted silver) and has the alloy feed pipe.

There use to be a "how to guide" in the projects forum that detailed fitting a V5 tmic to a wrx.

From what i've read on here over the years then if your looking for over 300+ brake from an phase 1 engine then you need a fmic.

There is just as much hastle fitting a later version of tmic (phase 2) than fitting a fmic. I think one of the problems is the inlet manifold being longer on a phase 1 engine.

Hey!! That looks awesome! Did you have to bash or cut the bulkhead?

Make an undertray

make your own brackets

cut 5mm off T/B and cooler, its tight but you dont need to touch the bulkhead, i also bought a generic silicone hose for the 90degree hose.

I used the standard Sti 6 bracket that came with the tmic for the passenger side, and the existing bracket for the drivers side.
The bulkhead doesn't need bending, but the metal round the top engine mount needs bending a bit(hidden under the tmic).
Also, i cut the lip off the tmic throttle body join.
I modded the undertray on a facelift bonnet i fitted:
