Default wagon leaking petrol

Had the car in for an MOT & the mechanic said there is a tiny hole at the top of the pipe near the fuel cap. He said it was a very akward job to replace this pipe & I would be better not to fill the car to the max. Has anyone replaced this pipe before & if so is it as big a job as the garage are making out?
Cheers.

It is not hard to change it only involves 3 bolts and 2 jubilee clips. Just make sure the tank is pretty much empty before doing it.
From Subaru they are 170ish but i got mine from here
Jap Performance Parts : Home and it was about 50ish from memory
