Default idle control valve

My check engine light has just come on (great timing, trying to sell it at the moment) and the fault code indicated its the "idle switch". Is this the right one for a MY93 with STi V3 engine?
Subaru Impreza WRX STI EJ20 TURBO IDLE CONTROL VALVE on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 24-Mar-09 16:50:08 GMT)
Or has anyone got the right one or this one (if it is correct) cheaper?

hi mate, i had same, cleaned it out for the time being, then replaced it twice and both times it idled all crazy, and brought the light back on, so ended up sticking with my dodgy original one that drops to 500revvs at times. Really p1ssed off with it to say the least!

good luck

mine just seems to idle a wee bit fast (1200rpm), I've ordered the other one to see if that turns the light out, just want the car 100% for selling it (if it ever goes).

Have you checked all the hoses/pipes connected are ok, if you've replaced it that many times and its' still throwing up a code 42 then it could be the piping/hosing.

its idles real low on the exisitng one. When i replace it with a second hand one which is supposed to be working, i get a revs going from 1600 - 2000 up and down a couple of times then drop to about 100 real rough and CEL comes on with a code 42. did pretty much same thing with both idle controls valves i used as replacements.

they were both ment to be good. The one i have now idles funny a sometimes sticks slightly at low revs when cold. But it seems im unable to replace it as car doesnt like it?

check you've not got a blockage or leak in any of the pipes going into or coming out of the idle control valve as if there is it would provide unrealistic readings/values hence rough running
