Default stalling at lights

hi all im having problems with the idle speed on my scooy, and i'm hoping you members can advise me on what may be the cause,
when i'm driving the car hard and i come to a junction the car will stall, but if i drive the car gently it will drop right down but not stall, when the car is idleing normally its ticks over perfect, is this just a case of cleaning the idle speed control valve out, many thanks for your time

Do you have an atmospheric dump valve? they sometimes cause a similar problem

Unfortunately most of us dont have crystal ***** and you need to tell us what model and year of car you have so we can atleast have a decent guess what is wrong, and if it does it only when warm or only when cold or both?

So im going to have a guess here (see if my crystal ***** any good )

You drive a classic, around a MY99/00 car?
It stalls when hot due to the idle?

Well my guess would be Maf sensor.

Now if it stalls when cold, my guess would be a coolant temp sensor issue, but then again, your always best going to a garage to get these things checked out

Like above, do you have a atmospheric dump valve? Had the exact same symptoms as yours, put a new one on and its as good as new!!
Simple way to test is get a set of pliers and put them on the vacuum hose from the dump valve - then rev the engine. If the engine does not go to cut out then thats your problem ( you will have to leave the engine run a few minutes until the engine idles around the 8-900 first)

The problem with mine was the same! Car would not go to stall when cold but as soon as the engine had warmed up - it would happen.Try the above it wont cost you anything but you will kick yourself if you buy sensors etc and then it turns out to be this. I tried plugs, maf sensor, intercooler pipe, checked all the vacuum hoses, idle control valve before finding this. Good luck!!

i have the same problem , but then only started when swopping my bailey for a hks.

wish i hadnt bothered now ..was going to try a filter thing in the vacuum pipe see if that helps , if not going to strip the hks down and give it a clean as it was second hand

have also noticed that my air/fuel gauge is bouncing all over the place now

and mines a my00
