Default How to?: spark plug change Classic Turbo

Ow my knuckles on my ape-like hands!

I've been trying to replace the plugs in my Classic for the last 20 minutes, and I got as far as getting one lead off! access is seriously limited from above, is it better to get the car on ramps and whip the splash tray off? Also, space is limited between the engine and chassis legs, is a 'special' plug spanner required? I just have one of those universally jointed T-bar jobbies.

Thanks!

It's a bit of a pain, but air box out, water washer bottle out, 12mm spanner for the coils, then i use a wobbly drive on the spark plug socket, plus a long extension, works well for me!

I use a T handle plug spanner
remove air filter housing, water bottle and electrical connector bracket immediately behind the battery

Mit, Scoobian, cheers for the replies, that sounds better than scuffling around on the floor!

Slipstream, many thanks for the link to the guides, much appreciated!

Can't say enough how good this forum is, the Subaru is still strange territory to me, but you guys here make it a loss daunting!
