I have a 95 WRX, which has always had a slighty black exhaust pipe, but these last few days this has got far worse. Also i have noticed that the fuel economy has gone downhill, now it is really bad. I recently fitted a cat by-pass down pipe, could this be related. Also the engine hunts alot when at idle, sometimes even stalling. When fitting a down pipe like this do you have to do anything to the Lambda sensor??

Any information will be grateful.

Thanks

Luke

Wink

WRX, I aint a hexpert on this but my limited knowledge tells me that it could be a faulty lambda as you say.

When I fitted my de-cat it had no adverse effect only a positive one

Good luck, MD.

Yep sounds like a faulty lambda sensor.
