Default Fitting a Dump Valve

Hey lads

been on the site for a while but never realy had a chat or posted a topic... thought it was time i did and needing help at the same time. first time scooby owner and managed to pick myself up a tidy little Turbo2000 in Mica Blue.

now... been handed a dump valve from a colleague at work and wanting to fit it but in all honesty... im lost... does any one have a diagramme or pictures on "how to fit" that can help me out? its just the actual valve its self so what other piping do i need... prefferably fitted up at the intercooler is were i would like it

it looks similar to this one except the small valve/nipple is to the side:

any help would be great guys... thanks!

Dont bother, hand it back. There is no performance benefit by fitting an aftermarket vent to air dump valve. The original one already fitted to your car works perfectly.

Unless you're a chav and want the pshhhhhhhhhhhh sound on over run.

i am a chav then

i disagree andy its all about personal preferences, having BOV dont make you a chav, driving a saxo or corsa with stupid neons makes you a chav!

anyway what year is your car Big Yin?

YouTube - Subaru 555

heres classic subaru video with dump valve on it if it helps ya by looking at it, i know how to fit one of a newage not 100% sure on classic, think you pull the oem recirculating valve off join the bottom of the dump vavle on with a hose clip and silicone hose then join a vaccum hose onto the tip of the dump valve and run it off a throttle body vaccum hose not 100% sure

depending on the year of yours on top of your inlet manifold there are three vaccum pipes the 1 on the left goes to your dump valve and once you have removed your oem recirculating valve you need to put a bung in your air intake pipe and then put your dump valve into the pipe that comes off your intercooler whee you took the oem recirc valve off.

if you do not already have a blanking plug/bung then go buy one.

its mainly a novilty for the now... first turbo! but yeah if it got annoying then i would end up just taking it off. the car is standard so i know it wont make any performance difference lol

thanks buddy, so basicaly taking the re-circ off and blacking it off with a plate on the intercooler... connecting the larger of the hoses to the bottom of the DV and then connecting the smaller to the 'nipple'?

sounds about right to me. but is your recirc valve connected with 2 bolts? if so that dump valve isnt right one for your motor

thats why i asked the year, the BOV that you have is the wrong one, you need one like uk300scoob said, one that bolts straight onto the inter cooler.

they are also very easy to fit, because i am a chav i done mine 3 months ago takes 10 min TOPS

i would recommend this one (its what i have), comes with a fitting kit which will include everything you need including blanking plugs etc....
