Default Dumpvalve fitting? not working, Why?

Hi all i've just fitted my dumpvalve to my classic, it intergrates itself into the front mount pipework, my question is where do i need to run the pipe from the top of the DV too? currently i have it running into the inlet manifold. when looking at the engine from the front its the 1 furthest to the right? the DV seems now to be acting more of a Bung as all the flutter is coming from the airfilter, its a baileys btw? any help much appreciated?? thanks

cheers mate. Any1 else know the correct way of gettin it workin. I've got a couple of different types of dv's and none of them seem to work on the current set up. Its a td05 so can handle runnin without either. Plus the old recirc 1 no longer fits. Where did others tee the pipe into?

Does the spring need tightening / untightening on the DV?

Im not sure, never dabbled with FMIC's, all I remember is the existing small hose that went into the standard DV fitted to the aftermarket one on a standard TMIC setup.

I think the small hose led to the engine plenum chamber to equalise boost pressure on the other side of the DV when on the throttle. Where you would plumb that on a FMIC, I wouldnt have a clue, sorry bud.

Can a longer small hose be plumbed from your DV to where the original went on top the engine?

Are you sure your coming off the boost side of your turbo. also make sure your vac lines arent kinked.

If you can post a pic of your current setup this may also help diagnose your problem. I'm running with a bailey and have no probs and my last scoob had a bailey as well.

the vac line should be on the one on the left as you look at all 3

Rex, i take it you have a vta dv, yes?

Obviously, the large port at the bottom of the dv attches to a metal take-off off of the FMIC hard pipe, either before, or after, the IC. Then the small vac port that sprouts out the top of the vta dv goes to ANY of the spare nipples on top of the inlet manifold. If none are available, best to 'T' into the vac line to a boost/vac gauge (if you have any). If not, then 'T' into any other vac line after the throttle body (pref. not the one to the BCS though, if you can help it...)
