I have a newage with the H&S angled back box. It was quite loud but once I got a straight through cat pipe the noise level became epic! So much so I now run for most of the time with a bung in the exhaust :haha:

I bought an H&S Angled Exit -

To replace the Magnex I had on mine. It was very loud and mine had no cats or resonated thingy.

I put it on to upset the neighbours but in the end it was me who gave in first. I drove to the NEC and had ringing in my ears all day and my daughter complained because it was too loud. I changed again to TSL Grp N which although didn't look as good as the angled exit was more acceptable.

Is it a good idea fitting a really loud exhaust with all the problems people have had with the fuzz lately? Last thing i want to do is draw unwanted attention!

dont know what its like up your way but down here, you've got more chance of being pulled for in this order....
1: driving like a ****
2: acting like a ****
3: having blacked out windows
3a: a back to front baseball cap
4: having small number plates

and if you qualify for all of the above, the sound of your exhaust might come into question. - which is fair enough.

but depends on the area / coppers involved etc.....

i had one on my sti v3, full decat unresonated, was just too loud, swapped it for a sti genome, much nicer sounding exhaust imho.

I live near Milton Keynes, and there's been a few cases of people being pulled for noise pollution, as you say, it's probably an excuse to pull idiots.
I have a quite system, and i still got an advisory on the MOT for the db level being high. Although, im sure they can only fail it if it leaks?

**** sound checks & catylitic convertors, as someone on here once said, "if im paying £400 road tax I might aswell go all the way" ! Next month Im changing over to a full H&S 3" decat system, with bellmouth twin scroll downpipe; one resonator & then jap angled style 4.5" backbox

I am sure it will sound great. I have a H&S system on mine, the full 3'' pipe from back to front and it's decatted to it sounds rather meaty!

Oh and compared to a standard exaust system, the difference in performance was quite noticeable :-)
