Anyone run H&S Exhaust on Track or know how loud they are?

Hi,

I want to get in on the group buy for the H&S Exhaust.

Im wondering if anyone uses this exhausts for the track, and how loud they are.

Im planning on the 3" decat, center, and 3" scoobysport back box on a classic sti. Just want to make sure its track friendly.

Advise please.

i ran a full h&s decat unresonated on my 99 classic and it sounded really nice but no worries about noise levels being excessive for track days, however if you were to run the jap style back box that would be a different story as had that system on my v3 sti and it was very loud, too loud for me in fact i swapped the backbox for a sti genome item which was much easier to live with and sounded really nice also.

Yeah ill be going for the scoobysport one not jap style. I would love a genome but cant justfy 250 quid on a second hand when you can get new for 200!

Good info MR Hat. Ill be going for the decat 3" straight through with the scoobysport BB then.

Also. Ive been informed ill need a 2.5" restriction somewhere in the pipe to keep the back pressures correct to keep top end torque. You have this issue?

I run a 3" H&S with a vortec on the end at when tested it came out at 109.8 db , with the bung it was 98.2 db .
Hence why i'm in on the group buy for a centre silencer !

just ordered the scoobysport 3" all the way back from the group buy. Hope it sounds perfect
