blown rad pipe.
right guys, here's another problem i need help with.
i got a 94 wrx wagon and last night she blew the top rad hose, and it was a good blow too, put a 2" rip in the hose.
i've got a brand new 1.3 bar zero sport rad cap on it, been having problems with it blowing out the seal on the cap so i bent the tabs down a little for a better fit thinking it was just not seating properly, but now she gone and died on me.
engine didn't overheat or anything like that, just parked the car up for 10 mins, got back in and drove off and within 50 yards i'd got more steam coming from under the bonnet than a swedish saurna at the annual nymphomaniacs and swingers convention.
been told it may be my head gasket gone, i'm hoping for the thermostat naffed up.
anyone else had this problem or have any ideas to what it may be?
no depressing or expensive answers please lmao

Putting that 1.3 bar rad cap on is not helping and has contributed to the failures. On a car of that age the coolant system and its connections/pipes are tired. You have then wacked the pressure up from 0.9 bar (which is the standard pressure for that car) to 1.3bar with that cap. Its no wonder bits are failing. A 1.3 bar cap is really not necessary on a 94 wrx wagon. I run a 1.1 cap. A nice upgrade in pressure to cope with heat from hard runs but not too much.
Check the sides of the radiator for hair line splits. this is where they tend to go.

i know what ya saying.
put new rad on 2 months ago as it had split then.
only uprated the rad cap as i was gettin water blown back through the top up vessel and put it down to the cap.

do you mean the one on the left or the one by the battery/inner wing? if you are over flowing by the battery/inner wing it sounds like head gasket.
could be a blockage though.
