just taken the car out and if you come off the pedal fast and put the clutch down the revs drop and the car cuts out ...
its fine on tick over and the pipe work is all new

The info on this thread is awsome.
I'm yet to see anyone have a dead engine as a direct result of a vta d/v.
Decrease in performance????? Foot to the floor and the vta d/v will be just as closed as the std one. Maybe between gear change jerkyness but that doesn't mean a performance decrease!

Sounds like the spring in the dv is not the correct one for the car, had this problem in my 200bhp uno turbo, pull up to a give way line and the car would cut out, put a new spring in and job done.

VTA Chav valves let metered air out of the system and the ECU doesn't know this (unless it's mapped in) then adds too much fuel which in turn makes it over fuel...
Forget it - look it up yourself
