Question methanol......

I am using a 10% mix in with the v-power at the mo, but i am coming to the end of my batch, and my car is having a map/health check at zen in 2 weeks time.

so the question is...

buy some more meth and keep using it or

stop using it and just use v-power

is filling up hassel worth the % in power increase?

Seeing as you've run the car with and without, those questions are best answered by yourself.

if its been mapped to run with meth then you'll need to stick with it.

or get map tweaked to run vpower only.

If you are not going to be driving it everyday, I would be tempted to try a 15% mix of methanol

i think you get the same sort of gain from it, but there are no places clase to me that sells the stuff.

15% would mean carrying to much around for my likeing, 5L in the boot is the most i really want to carry at a time.

Probably not the answer you really want, but save up for an ecu with switchable maps, such as simtek. then you can have one map for everyday driving on v power and another map for your meth mix. that's what I do and am really pleased with the option. ££££ I know

Well said ... Switchable maps are perfect.

Bit spoilt with 8 maps to choose from myself

E85 available in Wellingborough - take a couple of gerry cans when you go to zen and job done. It is a lot safer to carry around /store than methanol.

wellingborough is about 1-1.5 hours drive from me, so it is just not worth it, and the nearest is cambourn, and that is tripaway as well

also i am running the apexi power fc ecu at the mo, and it is just not worth the extra ££ for a twin map ecu, just for the convenunce of running 2 maps.

Duncan, that is just greedy

I'm running E85 for my every day car (1.5 tanks / week) and I'm not going back to running "normal" fuel in any hurry.

I'd say keep using the methanol, free power is fun

A tank of fuel lasts me around five weeks as i have a other vehicles to use.
Will a 10% e85 and vpower mix separate OR does it separate from the fuel whatever the mix is over a period of time. I would like to give this a go BUT i vaguely remember someones engine going bag and fuel separation was though to been problem.
