Default Remap

How can i tell if the car has had a remap... this is the first scooby ive owned, so have nothing to compare it against.

I know it has a full exhaust system and decat on the car already

The answer to that is not easily.. You could try inspecting the ecu itself to see whether it has had any physical modifications like an eprom emulator or a soldered or socketed daughterboard. Get some pictures of the ecu and post them for any comparissons. It would be harder to tell if it had been reflashed without the relevant equipment. Other than that information from previous owner would help but if not available you could try a power run to get an idea of what its producing and base your assumption on that. What year is the car, early WRX?

The only way on that car is to physically check inside the ECU as it will have a chip in it. I don't think the ECU can be remapped, that came later on the 99> onward cars ....or you could have it on a rolling road to check the BHP then you will know!

Where abouts is the ECU in a 93 import?
