The bugeye 2001 Denso ECU was prone to throw spurious Camshaft position sensor errors at high revs ...........if the CEL goes out after about 5 starts I'd give it a miss

Is the car running OK ??

Shaun, do you have any further info you can point me to, as I have a similar issue? Can a mapper just turn the error off like the other usual ones?

Might be worth contacting Slowboy Racing - he might have a spare second hand one knocking about.

Any more info on whether this can be caused by an ECU issue on 2001 cars gratefully received...

The Bugeye WRX had a few flaws in the ECU which were sorted by the time the blobeye arrived..... Camshaft / crankshaft position sensor errors, Neutral position switch problems giving misfire CEL's etc

There were also problems with re-mapped bugeye WRX's with the rev limit raised !

This never gave any running issues though and the cars behaved normally but flashed the CEL.

If the car is actually running rough then I'd have someone look at it

Shaun
