The 97 car is a phase 1.5 engine, the 99 car is a phase 2 engine, you really need another phase 2 engine for a straight swap (99/00 car)

Well im not sure about the loom, but the ecu is different, the injectors are 380's compared to 440's on the 99, 97/98 cars are reknown for having piston slap...
Look around for a 99/00 car

Tony

Not sure, but you may still have the piston slap problem if you do go that way

you can..

im in a similar boat.. my bottom end started knocking so found a replacement bottom end and my mechanic has told me that my heads, inlet etc will go onto any bottom end..

fortunatly i found a 99 replacement for my 99 rb... but i was considering anything really..

ecu wise makes no difference..
