Default PROBLEMS FITTING A DOUBLE DIN STEREO IN A BLOB EYE

Hi all,

Having some probs, hope someone can help.
I've bought a double din stereo thinking that i would just be able to do a straight swap over but it's slightly bigger than the original subaru stereo.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so how have they overcome it?
Cheers

Its an aftermarket dvd unit i am trying to fit.
The fascia sits just over the original stereo but won't fit over the new stereo, the new one seems slightly taller.

hello i had a similar problem a while back, will the facia fit through the radio front when you have the facia off? i ended up having to trim mine a little as the radio seemed a little to wide.

the original stereo sits just behind the fascia wheras the new one is too tall to go through, looks like i will just have to cut the fascia, just didnt wanna make a mess

i had this problem once and all i did was move the brackets forward a hole so in effect the stereo was sitting just behind the facia, it looked fine and worked ok.

HTH

the stereo is too high though to fit through the hole the width is fine it's just slightly too high for some weird reason.

As every one has said, you will need to trim the facia.

Do a small bit at a time.
