It is possible for the throttle body to ice up and the butterfly stick. Ive had this mod for two winters now this being the second and havent suffered any problems at all. I have seen intercooler temps just prior to throttle body down to -10 on a cruise and still no problems. Benifits are i guess a cooler throttle body helping to keep the charge as cool as possible.

Yep, as above, no issues with mine, even in the last few very cold weeks.

There is a "How To" in the guide section recently added.

Done on mine, 5 minute job once the TMIC is off, in theory you could get throttle icing, but that is much less likely on a turbo engine.

The link in the 'How to Section' is for 97 onwards i presume though it's the same for the 92-96 imprezas?
And is there any point in doing it on a standardish car.

i have done mine on a 96 engine and it's been fine, the engines get hot quickly so i shouldn't see it being a problem at all icing over.
