Default cambelt time, do i change oil pump?

Time has come to change cambelt, which has all been bought from GGR, was wondering whether its worth changing the oil pump to an upgraded one, heard horror stories about failing units etc..

car is a 2001 P1 with 75k on the clock.

regards
Rich

its worth while doing it at that mileage especially as the cam belt has to come off half the job is already done, there was a thread on here recently about api and they do a good price on the belt and the pump change over.

It's worth checking the oil pump as it has a small plate held on with about 6 screws and they do come loose and cause seepage.
As for replacing if you can afford go ahead.

API or RCM nothing wrong with Graham Goode either - My personal pref is API or RCM.

Not to sure about this but i'm sure i read it somewhere here ----- I believe API will only exchange for yours if yours is 10mm or 12mm and is re-usable only.

Definitely get the Oil pump done though. A worthwhile investment for the long run that's for sure.

Good Luck
