Hi there. Not been on here in a loooooooooong time but thinking about buying another Impreza.

This one would be for the occasional night rally and the rules sadly stipulate that turbo cars are not allowed.

With this in mind I thought - ah ha - sport...............but then found out they are only 125 bhp which isn't enough really.

So I had a dig around and found out that the old shape legacy's had a 2.5l, non turbo engine and immediatley wondered if it would fit. Which I suppose is my question to you guys. I'm sure there is already an Impreza with a 2.5l engine doing night events as the entry form lists it as a 2500cc.

So do any of you know whether the conversion is easy? Is it as simple as unbolt the 2000, and bolt in the 2500?

Any help on these is really appreciated.

A freind of mine is doing the exact same thing for stage rallying, I think he said he was swapping the ecu as well? He did say that the best option was to fit a mappable ecu (DTA etc) which would give another 20bhp or so for not too much money.
