Default Boost Solenoid Cleaning

With regards to this thread: https://www.scoobynet.com/technical-...-solenoid.html

Is it the actual Solenoid (metal pipe bit I clean) or just the hoses?

Will WD40 be ok for it?

Mate,

unclip all the rubber vacuum pipes from the solenoid.

Use brake/clutch cleaner (it evaporates, wd40 leave a residue)

Spray through all the metal pipes until it runs clear as it will remove any sludgy build up

Whilst you got it off why don't you do the boost mod and drill out the solinoid I think I used a 3mm dia drill this will increase spool up and should give you 2-3psi more boost!

One of the best mods I made as it was free and what a difference it made!

The standard boost solinoid is very restrictive!

is that not the same as adding a bleed valve?

In which case the bleed valve would be better to control??

They never made any v10's, they are all 4 pots

It will work on all boost solenoids afaik (and please, dont refer to your car as a version, just give the model year, there are too many different market cars out there and they are all different, hence why subaru dropped the versions after the STI version 6 cars).

Hey Tony, see that hook over there? See the coat that's on it? That's yours, that is.

Quite. Not to mention that the imaginary "version numbers" some people round here still use are... fictional, and open to intepretation.

hi m8 ive got a 93wrx which is over boosting. i fitted another module(second hand) which sorted it but after a while it happened again. i was told this can happen if there,s too much oil in engine. aparently the oil goes into the boost control module. is this true and will this cleaning procedure help me?
