Will this work?

Been looking for a 2.5" non-resonated centre piece for my blobeye sti as a direct replacement for the oem piece.

However doesn't seem to be many 2nd hand around but have been offered a few 3" ones. As the back boxes are 2.5" and the De-cat pipe at other end is 2.5" i didnt want 3" because of the work involved.

But what actually is involved? i only want to replace the centre bit but don't want to have to mod the back boxes and De-cat pipe to fit a 3" if you get what i mean.

Any help to clear up what can be done and any affects this might have if going back to standard etc or to air flow
