noisy engine
due to the snow i've not been able to drive my car for a whole week
as the roads seems better i tried it today, and the battery was flat so i had to charge the battery,
anyway after charging it i started the engine with the bonnet up!
oh boy the engine was so damn loud,.
i don't remember it being that loud ever.
the car is 8 years old. and i am the only owner since new (bugeye wrx)
its due for a service this month,
but is it just old aged engine or anything else?

Takes longer for thick oil to circulate, some Scoobys (?) have hydraulic "lifters" so the valve-train will be noisy till the pressure builds.
HTH
dunx
P.S. Old tired oil won't help either, mine's due & MOT !
