hawkeye 2.5 wrx needs 6th gear
Hi all, had my 06 WRX PPP for about a month now, well chuffed with it but on motorways i think i could definatley do with a 6th gear, any other 2.5 WRX hawks aggree. Anyone know of the potential cost for a 6 speed conversion.

There's a Zero/Sports conversion that adds a sixth gear to the WRX, sold in the UK by EDO Performance. The bad news is that it's an eye watering £3380 plus vat and shipping:
Zero/Sports 6 Speed Transmissions
For what it's worth, EDO seem pretty expensive in general. They're an American company, and I think they ship from Japan to the US, and then for UK sales ship from the US to the UK using a pretty uncompetitive exchange rate.
A better bet is probably to get an STi gearbox with the shift mechanism and, I guess, an STi rear diff. Should come out cheaper if you source second hand parts.

Agree, 3,4,5 are stacked closer together on the six speed, 5th = 4th on a 5MT & sixth = fifth on the 5 MT.
Forester may be a better choice ?, I'm no expert tbh.
