Default Battery terminals

I'm having problems keeping one of my terminals attached to the battery as it won't tighten up any more, is it ok to pack the terminal on the battery with some kitchen foil to pack it out a little more? Or is that just a bodge? or can someone recomend a solution?

Cheers

what kind of terminal is it?
...has the screw/nut stripped ?
if its a clamp, can you remove some material from teh clamp open end so it can pull together tighter?

It's a bolt type, that squezes the terminal but it's clamped as tight as it'll go

The OE negative terminal is larger than the pos (or is it the other way around..?) so if you're fitting a different battery make sure the posts are the same as the OE battery.

Alternatively, cut off the larger ring terminal and fit a std (ie same as post on battery) ring terminal..

You could 'bodge' it by wrapping some roofing lead around the post, provided it was a neat and tidy fit the ring terminal should then clamp it in place. Time to get the ladders and tin snips out and visit a local church..
