Default ecu upgrade 98 turbo

hi guys any help will do i,m thinking of changing my 98 uk ecu for a wrx one can anyone tell me if this is a good upgrade and what the differance it would make please

You may struggle to find a genuine 1998 WRX ecu so make sure it's 100% correct as a lot of people on ebay don't know (or probably care) what they are selling.

IIRC the MY98 wrx actually goes onto a td04 turbo so it should be ok in that respect. You'd need to check what injectors they both run as I have a feeling the V3/V4 UK cars run 380cc's and you'll need to make sure the WRX runs the same.

If it was me I'd look out for a 2nd hand power FC and get it mapped nicely with a decat and fresh fuel pump and you'd be better off for performance gain and safety. Also you'll be able to get back the money for the power FC when selling up.

Be careful. I believe the pin out might be slightly differnet for some sensors and the spec will differ between a WRX MY98 wagon and salon. Some had 440cc injectors, bigger MAF sensor and a VF22 too I thing..
Best to do some more research/searches.
