Default Engine options

My UK 99 took a large drink of water last week and needs a rebuild, 2 new piston & rods, crank, bearings and oil pump.

My question is would it be better going for a short block and transfer the heads, turbo, etc over onto it. I was thinking of going for a 2.5 block instead to give more torque however are there any issues with bolting stock 2.0 parts from the original block?

Any advice would be great

What do you want to acheive, how much have you got to spend? You can swap your parts onto a 2.5, but you need to re-map.
