HKS Air Filter Issue With FMIC
Last thing I needed to do today to complete my FMIC & D/Pipe install was to fit the HKS Mushroom air filter back on. However, this has caused me a bit of a as there is no way on earth that I can get this to fit AND close the bonnet!!
Have I done something wrong? I can't get it to mount back on it's brackets. I've maxed the amount of space I have, I've removed the grill cover and the best I can do is close the bonnet to the 1st catch & it still presses up on the grill.
If I can't do anything about this, then I will be buying something that WILL fit (suggestions please!) and flogging this to help pay for it.
Grr!

Yeah, a 90deg Samco between MAF and your Apexi metal resonator-delete pipe - just like mbd's, above - should do it. It'll make the filter sit in that 'V' created by the IC pipework, I think.
If the mushroom is still too high for the bonnet to shut, then you'll have to change it for a large K&N, Apexi or Green cone jobbie...
