how do i go about testing the electrical side of my fuel pump

 

when i use to test fuel pump on my rs turbo i use to run a couple of wires from battery,like a live and earth,then connect 1 to each side of pump,and if it made a noise then the problem would be fuel pump relay but dont no about diong this on a scooby but u get a rough idea
