Default Walbro fuel pump compatibility

Apologies in advance for what's probably a stupid question, but I've been bitten before and would rather check before parting with the cash! I've been looking for a walbro pump for my 56 plate 2.5l WRX. I've seen pumps advertised as being for new age impreza 01-05 and for 01-07. Needless to say, the cheapest is one listed as being for 01-05, a GSS342 model. I can't see any reason why this wouldn't also fit the 06 model, but it would be great of someone could confirm it.

Cheers

Dai

tbh you are unlikely to need to change the pump in a 56..

the pumps are very good..

This is assuming you are going for a remap on original turbo or fitted bigger turbo say 350bhp area?

You're right, I'm currently on 290 with a Milltek turboback and remap and the standard pump is fine. I'm looking at putting a VF34 in to go up towards the 350 mark; for the sake of 80 quid I thought it was probably worth putting in a new pump to pre-empt a possible limitation when I get it remapped post turbo change: mainly because thanks to your excellent fitting guide I'm happy putting it in myself I was thinking of bigger injectors too, though that would be a lot more expensive cos I wouldn't be up to putting them in myself

Yes agree it is an easy job and pump is cheap..

the standard injectors on your car are 550cc and will flow to 400bhp give or take a little.. so no need to upgrade.

The 56 WRX gets the AVCS and 550cc injectors and with the sti turbo is a real sti eater in disguise.. done a few and they just drive so well etc..
