Just come back from looking at some type-r's in Birmingham. Saw two, a white verson 3 and a blue verson 4.. now i understand that the earlier version type-r had a CDB ie V1+2.. am i correct? also the bloke i spoke to said that v1+2 had a top speed of 130, V3+4 145 and V5+6 150.. now i always thought that all type-r's had a top end of around 140 and it was the v-ltd's with the optional extra of the longer 5th, which would do 150.. confuuuusing!

 

There are no version 1 and 2 type r`s. Version 3,s were the first.

I have a V3 type R , i have the jap limiter in, but i was under the impression that i would only get 135mph flat out ????

 

I think that is correct and the later versions have a longer 5th?

 

My V4 (which is for sale ) has the longer 5th gear and it isnt a v-ltd cracking cars though i love mine but i have no room for 2 of them

 

The Type R is not about top speed, But are about the very quick acceleration to it due to the short gears.
