motul 300v 10-40 from opie oils or ebay-silkolene pro 10-50

put 4 litres then you will need about 1/4 to half litre give or take,i always fill mine to the F on the stick allows for expansion then


so 5litres is plenty plus some left over for top up

RCM always use Silkolene Pro R 15w-50 in mine

there are lots of good oils out there, but if it helps you decide, i use halfords fully synthetic 5-40. never had a problem and run 360 bhp. i think its more how often you change it that makes a difference.

I use Silkolene as per Madass..... in my 400 BHP Bug

Ok I have bought 5 litres of Silkolene Pro R 15w-50 and Silkolene 75w90 gearbox oil.

Stupid question but do I need to buy differential oil as well?

Does the rear diff use the same transmission oil from the gearbox?
If not what kind?

Centre and front diffs get the 75W-90 oil when you fill the gearbox. Rear diff takes that same oil.

Next time, get Castrol 75W-90 oil for the transmission. The Silkolene is within spec and all that, but virtually all specialists on here recommend the Castrol...

Oh yeah. It's just that I've heard people say that the Castrol is great for quieting things down/smooth running, etc.

Your Silkolene's fine, Im sure - they make good stuff.
