Loooking for some advice on heads and internals
I think its possible that my headgasket may neeed doing some time soon, but whilst i do it (i will be working on it with a friend who's a qualified and experienced mechanic) i was thinking of changing some engine components. would STI heads fit to my uk turbo block, and would it be benificial? I've heard it could rev higher, safely if mapped to suit. And also what about internals. Would sti internals benifit me atall? if not what would
Also how much would STI heads and internals cost?
Thanks in advance

One more post and you get to the big 1000
The question you have depends on what your doing to your car, for 250bhp you wont need STI internals, for 350 you will.

i diddn't even notice
Well i will be getting a new turbo, possibly a front mount and new exhuast manifolds/headers (for all you fussy ones, delete as appropriate) uprated fuel pump, simtek ECU, De-cat downpipe (along with decat centre pipe and exhaust already fitted)
I would like a decent chunk over 300 BHP, and just thought if my engine was out, and my heads were off, i could replace parts then if it would help.

You can have the "anti lag" on your normal ecu, the only scoob that has proper anti lag on an ecu is a spec c, and proper anti lag would kill your turbo every 1k miles as for launch control..... gearbox rebuilds are not cheap!

Yes that is very true, although when i do any modifications to my car, what ever route i may go down i shall always keep money saved spare for that 'rainy day' but i shall also try to do it so the car will be reliable.
in regards to the ECU the normal one cannot cope with dual maps can it?
I wouldnt mind 2 settings. one being the more powerful one, the other being more of a 'cruising' one so to speak.
