MAF Sensor fault code 23?
Hi Lads, had my check engine light on all last night, this morning i checked the fault code. came up with No 23 MAF Sensor?? (is this correct)
The engine fires but doesn't run, does this sound like the right fault for MAF Sensor fault.
I Have recently gone back to recirc from a dump valve could this have caused a problem. i presumed the arrow on the recirc points to the end of the filter (HKS mushroom) type. Is there anyway to check if it is the MAF
WRX 1995 import
Thanks, Dean

hi mate,if it is reading fault 23,then you will need to replace the maf sensor! if that is the only fault reading u have then fit the new maf and reset ecu,u will probably find that it will sort your problem!if not then atleast you have cleared the registered fault,i can more less garantee that when you replace maf and reset ecu that your car will be fixed!

Remember just because there is a code doesn't mean the part is faulty. Check the wire connections and make sure the MAF is clean as if running an aftermarket induction kit then it may put oil or dirty on the MAF.
If you clean it, do not touch the MAF sensor at all since it's a heated wire and it may do more damage than good.
Get some electric clean & wash spray, removes oil and dirt and dries instantly.
Give it a clean and see how she goes, subaru want £300 for a MAF so try ebay or on here. After all it's recommended to clean the MAF every 6ish months.
Hope that helps (on my 3rd MAF in 3 weeks now)
