"Tinkling" noise from 20g when warmed up
After reseating my 20g as it was touching the bellhousing, plus putting on a slip joint up-pipe, I'm getting a noise from the turbo.
When warm , if I rev above 2000 rpm, I can hear a tinkling/ringing noise from the turbo area that drops away the revs fall.
The nearest thing I can think of for the noise is a wheel just kissing a housing - when cold the housing hasn't expanded as much so there is no noise.
As the turbo was also split apart some months ago and needed a lot of work to remove corrosion to fit it back together, i'm wondering if the hot side isn't quite line up properly and the turbine wheel just touches when warmed up?
BUT, there was no noise until I did the recent work.
Any other theories?

It could well be, did you check the clearance from the turbine to the exhaust or compressor housing at the same time as applying side load to the turbine ?

I checked play when first bought and couldn't get the turbine wheel to touch the sides.
I took the hot side off to port it and had to clean off all rust before the hot side would return back in place squarely. Again the wheel wouldn't touch the housing.
It was run without this noise until I did the up-pipe work.
