seriously....
<muppet forum here i come>
....can and has anyone ever fitted that nitrox injection thing to a scooby <flame suit on> or similar car? and what would the likely result be?

not being a muppet, just curious, i've just seen 'the fast and the furios' and was wondering, thats all.

cheers

Here we go......

Right...

Nitros Oxide is no more powerful than petrol.. but it requires less air to combust than petrol.. therefore you can get more Nitros Oxide and air mixture into the cylinder and therefore get a bigger bang and more power than petrol.

Most Nitros Oxide (NOS) kits inject NOS straight into the inlet manifold or the cylinder via separate injectors to the petrol.
So you can run the car like normal and then switch on the NOS and when you hit full throttle (micro switch) the NOS is pumped into the engine as well as the petrol causing more power, obviously the larger the injectors the more power etc...

Drag cars run just on NOS but due to the extra heat and stress the engines are usually rebuilt after every meet.

Obviously you are putting lots of extra stress on the engine if you fit it to a car.

Regards

JGM

Hi
You would only need to fit Nitrox on the Scooby if you were going to be doing some deep dives in it , say 50 meters plus. If I were you I would use Trimix – much better or a re-breather.

Cheers
Iain

PS sorry
