Thumbs up

STI

There's no contest, you'll never be happy knowing that the STI has all the right bits to start with, that's before you start playing with it.

Just put the PPP money towards the new car.

Agree STi Uk is an awesome car - superb suspension, trick diffs, excellent brakes - what more could a man want?

Saw one for the first time today, in my town. I usually see one scoob every two months that may be visiting here, except for mine. I couldn't believe it when I saw the STI. I chucked a U turn and followed it, (unfotunately I was not in my scoob), and when it parked, I just had to park next to it, so that I could check it out in the flesh. It was in WR Blue. Looked beautiful. Made me very very jealous.

I think you are making the right decision.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Assuming you have a UK, then you've paid 21k for it, lost 4k on it already, so cost to change is 9-10kish, vs 1600 for the PPP.

It's not really a like for like comparison.

I know if I could afford the depreciation hit I'd get an STI tomorrow but I can't so will carry on tweaking the WRX for now

Besides, I really like it

Cheers

Get a PPP. Wait until the all new Prodrive modelled MY03 STI + PPP is released next year and then decide.

Not worth the swap at the moment.

You'll love the PPP

Insurance will probably be an issue when I decide. I have been told that it will be far cheaper to insure an STI over MY01 WRX PPP.

Have any of your ppp guys taken high premiums for that extra umph!

Forget PPP, get a Scoobysport full decat. You can take it off and sell no probs when you sell the car (keep original exhaust).

Wait until the all new Prodrive modelled MY03 STI + PPP is released next year and then decide on this or an EVO 8

STi & WRX are setup so differently.

STi is a race car with fantastic pace.

WRX has not as much pace... It is a comprimise between performance and comfort. You will hang on to you fillings longer in a WRX.

Look at what sort of driving you do. Then decide. Whether just to hot up the WRX a bit more.

I'm looking down the same road myself at the moment

Red face

I found the new STI VII to have particularly compliant handling - softer although more sophisticated than I thought.

Must just be me!

I have to agree with Trout... no competition.

If I was in your position I would take the STi 7, then wait for it's PPP to be relased.

The car feels so much more composed in standard form than the MY01 after the PPP and other mods, I know I drive one!
