Talking Cam belts etc

Hello again.
Just one more newbie question then il do one
The belts at the front of my engine seem to squeek a bit on tick over. I'm sure it nothing bad but is there a way to stop it,ie lube or something sprayed on the belts, or would that not be good
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

ok to start their drive belts not cam

You can use a little wd40 / duck oil / washing up liquid to cure a little squeek. But make sure you check they are tight, push the belt with your finger and it should move about 2-4mm (make sure engine not running )

Oh and check grooves for wear if they is then just replace them for the safe side!

Hope that helps

If your drive belts are sqeaking it is because they are slipping slightly. Spraying any lubricant on to the belt will stop the sqeak but will make them slip more.
NEVER lubricate drive belts.
As a maintenance supervisor my technicians sometimes use belt spray this is not a lubricant but improves the friction between belt and pulley.
I hope this is what Tomski is getting mixed uo with.
No advice is better than bad advice.

Hence why i said only a little bit and to check condition!
Plus it would only slip if loose
