Default 90 degree Boost Hose and Clamp

Hi

Does anyone know if there is an uprated hose available for an STI that goes from the Turbo to the intercooler, the red one with the 90 degree bend?

Also are there any clamps on the market that are better than the standard hose clamps, ive heard that T hose clamps are good? What size would I need?

Keep blowing this pipe off every few weeks since the car was Re-mapped, im guessing that either the hose needs replacing or I should get another mapper to take a look make sure the idiot who mapped it didnt run too much boost.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Raf, try AET !

Or you will have to pull it off, measure it and buy one from Demon-Tweeks or someone similar.

Will give them a call tommorow mate thanks.

Do you know anywhere when I can buy new clamps from where I could pick them up without having to mail order?

Is it a new-age STi? If so, it's not just a 90deg bend - it's got an offset as well, so a simple 90deg hose will not do! (I made that mistake!)
Samco do one as part of a hose kit but they will supply the hose alone via a Samco dealer. The part No is TV1096 and is £34.84 + VAT
Viper Performance do very good clamps which have slightly rolled edges that will not bite into the hose. (They don't do the hose in question, though)

Thanks John thats great, yes it is a new age its a 55 plate Hawkeye, hopefully getting this problem sorted today, turn out that the pipe is fine, its down to the clamp, and possibly too much boost from the Re-map.

If the clamp is tight enough the boost from a re-map should not pop the hose off! The standard hose and clamp on my STi with an MD321H pushing 1.65bar held OK
Did the hose come off, leaving the clamp behind? There's a lip on the turbo outlet so it would be impossible for a properly tightened clamp to slide off!

No the Clamp came loose and the hose blew off, So far i think 5 different places have atempted to fix this problem and eventually the same happens again.

Got it put back on again lastnight, and the guy took the hose off cleaned it, and replaced it, its def on properly this time I watched him do it and the clamp is in the correct place and tight, so lets see what happens.
