Default 2006 2.5 wrx remap

Hi all

considering a remap soon on my MY06 2.5 WRX - just had it's 40k service and was advised by Cross Roads Garage Subaru to be careful with how much power i try and put through the 5 speed gear box as they are notoriously weak?

i was advised to add to my TSL de-resonate centre and group N backbox by removing the 2nd cat leaving the first in place replace the fuel pump with a 255l Walbro and then have it mapped by Bob Rawle - they reckon around 280-290 bhp and 320-340 ib/ft torque from this? - and remaining completly reliable - which for me is a must as it my daily driver

in addition the advise was to go for some eibach springs, uprated anti roll bars and polybushes plus uprate the brakes with decent pads and braided hoses.

i was already thinking of going this route save for i was going to ditch all the cats including the one in the up pipe or fit a sports cat - not sure now as i don't want to kill the gearbox

Any thoughts appreciated

Kev

Kev, the gbox is safe til at least the mid 300's..... bhp and lbft..... so no worries in that department for where you're aiming...... low 300's makes a really nice daily drive...
