Default broken down, wont fire up

hi all.

yesterday i stalled my car at some traffic lights and it would not re-start. it happened on my town centre high st. . im pretty sure its the immobiliser not turning off. normally when my car is stationary for a while it will turn on so i just turn the ignition to the on position, push the button on the key fob and it clicks and will fire up. when i try to do this now i turn the ignition on but when i push the button on the fob it arms the alarm. mallens recovery checked one of my ignition coil packs and confirmed there was no spark.

my car is a my03 sti uk blob eye with standard factory alarm.

is there a way to reset the alarm?????

cheers

Not sure if the following will apply to your factory alarm but...

Most alarm modules are obviously in the engine bay. They are normally fitted with a 'valet switch' in the form of a key socket on the side of the module. You normally just turn the key to the other position and it's like having the car as if no alarm/immobiliser is fitted. So the starter should now start conventionally, via the ignition key(?)

Just a guess

Could it be a fuse? I blew a 30amp? then had no spark. It was one of the larger green fuses in the box by the battery. Took me ages to find!
