got an early 1992 wrx import ...jsut fitted a z4 ecu (had a u8 in there) thinking it would cure my engine light problem...

the engine light comes on on deceleration from around 3k and goes of at either idle or under1.5k and stays of till it does it again ...

also it only does this when its reached operating temp..

i did the code read and comes up with error 24 idle air control solonoid ..replaced that replaced boost controller and all its bnits .

still does it ..and when you toodle along with say throttle on and off behavoir it will judder start burbling and light comes on then soon after like millaseconds it sorts its self out ><

most importantly what should my car be boosting on the z4 ecu i got it at around 0.9 bar at full boost ???

really confused but i have to say the car boost strongly and has no engine noises or any shoddy behavouir

boost is fine (0.87 is z4 standard).

Not sure on your problem as normally if the CEL lights up it will stay on.

Was the Idle control a new one or 2nd hand?

i jnow it sounds daft but have u checked ur coil packs? on a 1992 the coil packs are normally heat soaked to death and stop operating as they should. i've had similar issues in the past and it was a dodgy coil pack loosing a spark
