Default ECU HELP?

hi can anyone advise on my ecu please it is from my 96 sti wagon is this an mappable chip or is it just a sti one? i have had a wrx before and it had a gap where the chip with the gf8 label is

is it mappable then or do i have to go apexi?

not remappable as far as i know.
not sure if the Power FCs are still avaliable for early cars but you could try Enduring Solutions Limited do a remappable daughterboard.
Advatages of the board is that it uses the OEM diagnostics and knock control which i don't think the Power Fc has.

Speak to Scott T as he can supply a replacement ecu withe board on it for an extra charge.

Depending on how much you want to spend there is always the Simtek ecu which has gained popularity on here.
www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk does the most popular option and lists prices for them.

You're right, the PFC doesn't.

It has to be expertly and safely mapped (no ignition advance/retard feature). The CEL light can be setup to indicate knock plus, of course, there's the knock level on the Commander.

Can still get powerfc for them at the moment.
Esl board works very well too

thanks i was going to ring you jollygreen monster in the new year about a remap but i am unsure of eith a spending 400-500 for daughterboard and remap or 500 apexi + remap
