Default slight knock on start up

Hi guys

just wondering if anyone could ease my worry and say they have experianced the same

over the last few weeks the car has developed a very slight knock, almost like a thud when the engine first ignites into life, its literally lasts just 1-2 seconds and sounds very much to me like its the downpipe or something hitting on something!!!, it does it whether it it hot or cold and it happens when turning the engine off aswell, also happens if the engine revs drop very low (almost stalling).
Im pretty sure its not bottom end just through the symptoms above but want to see what other people think?

Cheers in advance

well after experiancing some boost fluctuation this morning ive just had a good browse and to my great delight found that 'somehow' the intercooler had come loose and was knocking on the bulkhead with this also resulting in the intercooler almost pulling out of the hose (hence boost leak)

so sorted

Hell yeah, its very rare for something not to be as serious as we usually think it will be

bit p!ssed off with the mechanics that fitted the new downpipe and clutch as they would have been the last guys to have it off and obviously failed to put it back on properly
