heater playing up
hi there, got a weird one for you here!
i've got a 1994 wrx.
my heater only seems to be either cold or hot, nothing in between. with it right over to cold, its cold, then as soon as you turn it a notch on the heater control it goes right up to max and it stays the same all the way to the top of the control. BUT... when the cars has been driven for 30 mins or so it goes warm when the controls half way between hot and cold.
i've checked the water level, thats ok. the engine temp guage is bang on half, so thats ok.
cheers for your help

Mine sometimes does a similar thing.
Could it not be the coolant thermostat perhaps not opening fully/inconsistently? And/or the water pump is worn?
This is what I think could be wrong with my 1993 WRX too? (I've got a nice shiny new Zero Sports 71C stat waiting to go in )
