IMPORTING A CAR
hi there. i was thinking of importing a skooby type r. what are the costs of bringing one over and then registering it with dvla. also besides the rear fog light what else needs to be changed for it to pass the test and what does this test require in order for a car to pass without any problems. cheers

if you can find a type r that is over 10 years old then you wont need to esva it. all you will need to do is mot, register and tax it.
regisration is £65 quid. mot will need only fog lamp.
then yove just gotta convert the clocks.........and map it as the type r needs jap grade fuel fuel ideally. would use v power as a bare minimum.

Navigate the whole site and you'll soon understand the way it works, import fees etc. Especially click on the 'How to Pay' and 'Fee and Payment' tabs...
You're able to now buy all MY99 JDM cars (now just over 10 years old) without the hassle and expense of Model Reports/ESVA, etc.
