bugger beaten to it lol
anyway just clicked on you have a blob wrx fitting is easy you need mole grips and a 12 mil spanner/socketremove the 2x 12 mil bolts on the dumpvalve on the intercooler
2 pull the small vaccum hose off
3 use the mole grips or pliers to lock the clip open and pull the dump valve upwards with a twist
4 then insert the metal blanking plug into the larger hose and snap the clamp shut,
5 line the new vta valve upto the intercooler be carefull with the gasket if it comes off (prob won`t it should be stuck to the intercooler)
6 reinsert the 2x 12 mm bolts and tighten and then reattach the small vaccum hose to the top of the vta valve.
As for what one HKS ssqv sounds top its what i want for my blob
id avoid bailey one doesn`t hold boost very well soft sprin,
forge meant to be good but pretty quiet turbosmart good too and adjustable

As a Newb you may wish to research your prospective purchase (use the search facility). VTA DV's have a habit of spoiling the way your car drives making it jerky and erratic, as well as releasing absolutely no performance whatsoever. They also sometimes cause reliability issues, and many that get them tire quickly of the 'bus door' sound. The OE recirc DV already fitted suits the car perfectly, giving smooth, reliable running, and no silly noise to impress 12 year olds on council estates.

I've gone back to recirc but in the form of a Forge Recirc. Car drives better and less erratic. Gear changes now are so smooth.
Only thing I would change is I want my really loud pops and bangs back and the flames. But hey. You can't have it all.

Got a HKS SSQV installed on mine.
Absolutely no issues, no jerkyness, no stalling, no strange revs on idle etc

Guys must admit its mainly for the noise that I want it and as this is my first Scooby ive got to go down that road in order to return if you know what I mean that coupled with I live in Romford the bus door noise will convince the boy racers in there £45 corsas with £30,000 sterios and £800 worth of stickers that although my car is an estate it is a real turbo scooby unlike what I overheard in a car shop the day I bought it from 2 zit ridden ejits who were deciding on a gold plated amplifier fuse holder that "the estate versions are like a watered down version of the real impreza but without the power"

obviously I do want the noise but not the relability issues if thats possible so really ill bow down to you guys superior knowledge and buy what comes recommended thanks for all the replys keep them coming

I always preferred to let them think what they like and let the car do the talking at the right time. With standard power, apart from PPP, my 03 WRX didn't turn heads much. However, with a few grand spent on chassis and suspension mods it was devastating on the move. Many a fellow Scooby owner was humbled with much higher powered machines, let alone kids in their biscuit tins. Gimme a sleeper and a smug grin any day over a loud brag

If BOVs are your bag, then you'll prob have a seizure when you clap eyes on this bad boy (and that's just the price LOL)...
Go Fast Bits 2008... Fully adjustable between recirc and vta via in-car electronic control.
And yes, that's £318 at today's exchange rate!!! (and that's not including shipping from OZ - although there must be agents/specialists in the UK that sell GFB gear )
If that's too extreme, then check out their further options in the list on the left...
