access with the tmic on is the only issue and removing the intercooler will probably take longer than changing the starter motor..
as said disconnect the battery..
then on the starter there is one spade connector (power from the key) and a 10mm bolt holding on the power line..
you then need a 14mm spanner.. ratchet one ideally and undo the told bolt which is long and goes through the bell housing and also usually has the earth strap on it... and then there is a 17mm nut lower down you can usually support with one hand and unwind with the other from above the car etc.. it then falls / slides out the back of the bell housing.
