About .9 bar is standard, if your going for an exhaust/panel filter on an MY00, bin the idea of any manual boost controller, the safest way is a remap, give you about 270bhp, but I would seriously think about the brakes before doing this.
Remap will cost you about 600 quid all in for the ecutek licence and map.

why is it so expensive to map an impreza? is it down to things you need to buy to map it?

do you have to get a uprated ecu then? or can you just adjust air and fuel mix?

I believe it's due to the cost of purchasing the ECUTEK license needed to first remap your car, along with the labour for the mapper. Subsequent remaps shouldn't be as expensive though, as the license would have been paid for. A good remap isn't cheap on any car though.

The good thing about MY99 to MY00 Imprezas is that they use the ECUTEK Ecu which can be remapped on the existing ECU, whereas older Imprezas usually need the entire ECU to be replaced.

well mines a 2000 x plate car and have just been told by roger clarke to remap a standard engine its £595 + vat, i then said i wanted to fit my ihi vf34 turbo before its mapped and they said oh ifs its not going to be a standard remap ie change the turbo it will be £995 + vat. Where do they dream these prices up from. I have always paid around £350 + vat for my supercharged civic type r, my supercharged s1 Exige and my Audi 1.8 turbo powered Exige (gt30 turbo). So this subaru game just seems a bit of a con if theres nothing specail to mapping them. Roger clarke said they need the car for the whole day then let it slip after i asked more questions that it takes 3 hours to map it.

personally i think hes trying to con u. remap at engine tuner in plymouth is 500,and fitting a turbo should be 200 ish,the remap price should never alter no matter what mods uve got. seems far too pricey for my liking.try other places mate!

that wasn't including him to fit the turbo that was me changing the turbo and him just to map it. I think im just going to sell the ihi turbo cos i dont want to spend that much on the subaru and it was just a turbo i had lying around as i had it off the audi exige ive got when i upgraded the turbo to the gt30, that again cost £350 + vat to get it mapped.
