Default MY06 Spec C ECU into MY04 Spec C......

My brother bought a MY06 Spec C ECU as a spare for his MY04 Spec C. I thought it would work fine as I'm 99.9% the JDM's are still DBC on that year of car. The car turns over but doesn't fire up, could it be the immobiliser? The car is fitted with a CAT1 alarm and immobiliser.

Anyone got any ideas? The original one of course still works fine.

The alarm and immobiliser is ECU independant on a JDM as it is after market. I thought a MY06 JDM was DBW?

Not the JDM's I don't think, I've checked the ROM for a S204 and a JDM STi 06 and neither have the DBW tables you find in the UK ECU's.

That ecu is different, up to and inc MY04 the same, MY05-MY07 are different, JDM cars are not DBW.

cheers

Tried it on my car, still didn't work. It's strange, it doesn't appear to prime the fuel pump, so it turns over but won't fire, it's defo not a problem with the immobiliser. It also won't allow my ECUTek monitor or laptop to talk to it. Could he have bought a brick?
